Dhaulagiri French Pass

Mt. DhaulagiriMoving from the semi-tropical regions thick with ferns and forests through hillsides ablaze with rhododendron into the alpine wilderness of snow capped peaks and glaciers. This is a tough, yet spectacular trek surrounded by the colossal peaks of Dhaulagiri. Much of the route is on snow and glacier as it crosses French Pass and traverses the head of Hidden Valley to cross Thapa Pass.

Day 01:

Arrive at Tribhuban International Airport and transfer to the Hotel (D)

Day 02: Leisure day in Kathmandu valley sightseeing (B)
Day 03: Drive Tansen (1800m) 10 hrs (B.L.D)
Day 04: 4 Drive to Tamghas 7 hrs Trek to River camp (900m) 2½ hrs (B.L.D)
Day 05: Burtibang (1600m) 7 hrs (B.L.D)
Day 06: Chamje to Dharapani (B.L.D)
Day 07: Bobang (2000m) 5 hrs (B.L.D)
Day 08: Forest camp (2500m) 5 hrs (B.L.D)
Day 09: Chhentung (2950m) 3 hrs (B.L.D)
Day 10: Jalja-La (3400m) 4 hrs (B.L.D)
Day 11: Muri (2000m) 6 hrs (B.L.D)
Day 12: Baghar (2750m) 6 hrs (B.L.D)
Day 13: Dobang (3750m) 6 hrs (B.L.D)
Day 14: Pakoban (4500m) 5 hrs (B.L.D)

Day 21: Fly Pokhara (915m) ½ hr (B.L.D)
Day 22: Pokhara to Kathmandu 7 hrs by tourist coach or 30 minutes flight. (B)
Day 23: Final Departure (B)

  • International airfare to/from home city and international Airport departure taxes (Rs. 1700).

  • Nepal entry visa costs (~$30.00) and visa extension fees (three days transit visa you will get free upon your arrival)
  • Travel, trek and expedition medical and evacuation insurance;
  • Emergency evacuation charges, if required;
  • Personal expenses (e.g. phone calls, Hot shower, laundry, alcohol, soft drinks, bottled water during the trek souvenirs, etc.)
  • Tips for the staffs because this is the sign of the guest happiness at the end of the trip. It has been establish a custom say Tips "Baksis" us$ 2 per day for porter, us$ 3 per day for Sherpa and cook, us$ 4 per day for guide (collect between all the participants and reward each staffs through your hand directly)
